THINKING OF PIERCING YOUR EAR(S)?  If you plan on participating in Norwich Recreation team sports (Soccer, Basketball, Lacrosse), then SUMMER is the BEST time to do this.  No Jewelry is allowed to be worn by players in these sports.  Since 'studs' need to stay permanently in place for about 6 weeks after piercing, early summer is the ideal time to do it. It is extremely difficult & painful to get studs out and many officials won't make an exception in this situation, leaving a player with the choice of trying to remove them or not playing in the game.

COMMUNITY  RECREATION  FACILITY  NOTES

DOG  OWNER  Reminders:  Dogs must be under an owner’s control on public town property such as Huntley Meadow. We also ask that everyone PLEASE PICK UP AFTER THEIR DOGS at all of our Norwich recreation areas as well as on the Green. Please be considerate of others. There are doggie pick-up bags @ Huntley Meadow. Please only take 1 bag as needed for on-site use only. Pulling multiple bags out at once clogs dispenser.

NORWICH  TENNIS  COURT  SCHEDULE  &  LESSONS:  We are excited to have the River Valley Club's outstanding tennis staff teaching some lessons in Norwich again this summer. Check out the RVC website at www.rivervalleyclub.com or call the RVC Tennis Pro Shop at 603-643-3627 to receive detailed information about summer tennis &/or to register for their classes.  We have made sure that lessons are at non-busy times so this shouldn't affect residents' use.  Our Norwich team playing in the 'Community Tennis Association' will be practicing on Mondays evenings, with Home matches on Wednesdays from 6pm until dark through Aug. 15th.  There will always be at least one court kept open for residents.

Facility Improvements: Thank-you to 'The Norwich Women’s Club' for helping to fund the re-surfacing of the Huntley Meadow courts last year!  An enormous "Thank-you" also goes out to the "Jack & Dorothy Byrne Foundation" for providing funds / awarding the Recreation Department a grant to install a batting cage at Huntley Meadow, and to our Baseball Committee for making it happen.
